About the 1 Plus 4 Challenge

The 1 Plus 4 Challenge is my challenge to you. What is it, then?

1 Plus 4 is a challenge that you read the Bible in a span of a year. In addition to that, you should read at least four Christian books. Ideally, you should finish a book in a quarter of a year.

An ideal reading list should consist of books of different genres. I propose this combination of genres:
1 Theology or Biblical Studies
1 Leadership or Personal Development
2 Christian Living

An example reading list would be:
Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris (Basic/Introductory Theology)
The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C. Maxwell (Leadership)
Crazy Love by Francis Chan (Christian Living)
Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper (Christian Living)

Another example would be:
A Tale of Two Sons by John MacArthur (Biblical Studies)
The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork by John C. Maxwell (Team)
Desiring God by John Piper (Christian Living—Christian Hedonism)
Grand Weaver by Ravi Zacharias (Christian Living)

You can be as creative as you want in your reading list.

It’s my prayer that you will take the 1 Plus 4 Challenge. May it help you develop a habit of reading, towards a healthy life of the Christian mind.
